Overview
Natural kraft board is made up of 80% virgin pulp fibre, making it up to 100% recyclable and biodegradable. This material is brown in color and offers optimal durability as well as tear and dust resistance, making it ideal for packaging products for shipping. Natural Kraft boards are in fact the industry standard for producing corrugated packaging, making this material readily available and fairly cost effective to produce. However, the brown color of this material may alter printing output to appear more muted or faded. Although, bleached white or Kemi white liner boards tend to be a little more costly, if your brand requires vibrant designs, considering the extra cost may be worth while.

Corrugated Strength Tests
E-Flute
Force is applied perpendicular to the edge of the corrugated board until it buckles. The results provide accurate representation of the material’s strength, durability and stack resistance for heavier loads. The resulting value is shown in pounds per linear inch of load-bearing edge and is reported in ECT ratings.
Note: 32 ECT is the most commonly used for corrugated material.
Bursting Test
The burst test, otherwise known as the Mullen Test, challenges the durability of the corrugated fiberboard’s surface. The burst test determines the amount of force required to puncture the liner board. The resulting value is given in pounds per square inch.
Note: 200# means 200 pounds per square inch of force applied to the face of the liner board.
Color Appearance On Kraft Board
Ink Colors on Kraft Paperboard
Darker paper stock may alter the color output when printing, making them appear less vibrant and more muted in tone.
White Undercoat with Color
White ink can be used as a base on kraft paperboard to ensure colors appear more vibrant while still maintaining the true texture of kraft paper.

Using white ink on kraft paper creates a textured contrast on the material due to its natural fibers.
